About the book

Published in 2019, The Sprightly Sloth is a children's picture book by author and illustrator Christopher Bunt, for children aged 4 - 7. The story follows Murray, the only sprightly sloth, on an adventure through the rainforest where he learns new skills and meets new friends along the way. But when events take a dramatic turn, Murray has to rely on his courage and his new found friend to get him home safely to his brother and sister.

About the author

Christopher Bunt lives in the beautiful seaside town of Falmouth in Cornwall, with his wife and daughter.

He has a background in graphic design and has always enjoyed the challenge of creative writing. It was however his young daughter's love of reading picture books each night, that first inspired him to write and illustrate his first book, The Sprightly Sloth. After more than three years of hard work, the book was finally published in November 2019.

Great for any age

Such a lovely story! I read this book to my three year old but I enjoyed it just as much - it really is perfect for any age. The illustrations are beautiful and the rhythm of the story means you naturally read it to a beat, which makes it all the more engaging. Love it!

An inventive, charming and chuckle-worthy picture book that’s beautifully illustrated and cleverly thought-out. Lovely book for children!

I read this book to my young grandchildren. They not only love listening to the story but also looking for the hidden creatures. To quote my 4 year old Granddaughter - "I love the upside down sloth"
